Justified On FX Is A New Favorite
U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) is a believable, blue-collar hero that exemplifies a man's man. This no-nonsense gun-slinger reminiscent of Clint Eastwood balances ass-kicking with a dash of empathy. Raylan is always true to his principles, doing what he thinks is right with little regard for his career or physical well being. He is a man of action, who never waits for backup and is frequently out gunned but never out classed. Constantly protecting the people he cares about and often choosing to drown his sorrows instead of share them.
The first season is over, and FX is only showing snippets of each episode on their website so you'll have to wait until their available on DVD. It’s well worth the wait.

Louie: A Winner About A Loser
I've already told you how much I like Justified, which up until now was the latest show on FX to earn a season pass on my DVR. This station continues to surprise me with its latest debut, Louie. Comedian Louie C.K. plays himself in this series that finds the humor in the daily interactions between Louie and his fellow New Yorkers. Hurry and you can catch the end of the first season Tuesdays at 11.

Some Coin For Your Pocket
In today's economy with hiring/promotion freezes and uncertainty about our futures it is more important than ever to make sure your money is working for you. A lot of people are looking for investment opportunities I thought I'd share one I believe in. Verizon wireless (NYSE: VZ). Everyone knows it's the network. But right now its a mobile carrier that looks poised to gain in the next 18 months. The US mobile phone market is nearing saturation but the penetration of smart phones is still relatively low (17%).
As smart phones become more ubiquitous the revenue per customer will increase across all the carriers and that's good for the category. Verizon gets the iphone in 2012 (or sooner because this is the only way Apple can really grow its market share in the category) with or more likely a new version without an antenna issues. People that like iphones but hate AT&T switch because the contract they started on AT&T when they got their reliable 3GS iphone has expired and Verizon's market share increases. You win. Google's Android phones like the HTC Incredible over take the iphone as the smart phone to have, AT&T users sick of not having reception switch to Verizon and leave their iphones behind. You win. I could go on but I'll let you do your own research.
I'm not an economic adviser. It's important to buy stocks you believe in. So do your own homework before investing. Here's one last tip that is always good, don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

Some Nice Furniture For Your Cave.
I'm a big fan of reclaimed or natural wood furniture and Hudson Furniture Inc. has some fine examples of some exquisite pieces. I wouldn't mind a Signature Plexi Coffee Table in my living room.

Every man should know how to tie a tie.
You may hate them, but at some point you will need to wear a tie. I don't care what you do to make your living you will need to attend a wedding or funeral at least once in your life and a tie is part of the dress code. Here's the simplest tutorial I've found on the four basic knots: neckties.com.

The Lakers Man Up
Manliness is about having heart and the Lakers won game seven with heart. Down 13 in the third quarter Ron Artest and Pau Gasol picked up the slack and showed that they know what it takes to win. Kobe's legacy was never in jeopardy, but his quest to be the best player in NBA history certainly was because it starts and ends with how many championships you've won. All around a great series and a Lakers season punctuated by heart.
What Is This All About
What does it mean to be a man today? I'm not talking about the obvious reproductive organ that it takes to be a male but the traits that make us a positive example for other males and attractive to females. Some of these traits have stayed with us from the cave while others have gained acceptance in the last generation. Here we will discuss the things important to the modern man.
