In today's economy with hiring/promotion freezes and uncertainty about our futures it is more important than ever to make sure your money is working for you. A lot of people are looking for investment opportunities I thought I'd share one I believe in. Verizon wireless (NYSE: VZ). Everyone knows it's the network. But right now its a mobile carrier that looks poised to gain in the next 18 months. The US mobile phone market is nearing saturation but the penetration of smart phones is still relatively low (17%).
As smart phones become more ubiquitous the revenue per customer will increase across all the carriers and that's good for the category. Verizon gets the iphone in 2012 (or sooner because this is the only way Apple can really grow its market share in the category) with or more likely a new version without an antenna issues. People that like iphones but hate AT&T switch because the contract they started on AT&T when they got their reliable 3GS iphone has expired and Verizon's market share increases. You win. Google's Android phones like the HTC Incredible over take the iphone as the smart phone to have, AT&T users sick of not having reception switch to Verizon and leave their iphones behind. You win. I could go on but I'll let you do your own research.
I'm not an economic adviser. It's important to buy stocks you believe in. So do your own homework before investing. Here's one last tip that is always good, don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

Some Nice Furniture For Your Cave.
I'm a big fan of reclaimed or natural wood furniture and Hudson Furniture Inc. has some fine examples of some exquisite pieces. I wouldn't mind a Signature Plexi Coffee Table in my living room.

Every man should know how to tie a tie.
You may hate them, but at some point you will need to wear a tie. I don't care what you do to make your living you will need to attend a wedding or funeral at least once in your life and a tie is part of the dress code. Here's the simplest tutorial I've found on the four basic knots: neckties.com.
